Being born and raised in the village of Whakarewarewa provided both exposure and experience in contributing to the wellbeing of whanau and hapu.
This was both complimented and challenged by a unique and natural geothermal environment that demanded understanding and respect to co-exist harmoniously.
Over the years this foundation has provided a solid base for my personal and professional development in education, environmental development, social services, legal services, policy development and Treaty settlements.
The years of engagement varies with central regional and territorial authorities, as well as community organisations, has given me first hand experience and understanding of these entities and the challenges they face in society.
My real passion is getting the best outcomes for Te Arawa and the community I reside within and as the current CEO of the Te Arawa Lakes Trust I can truly focus my energies on achieving this.
Rotorua born, bred and educated. Married to Peter and recently moved from rural to city living in Rotorua. My work history includes many years in law firms as a Legal Executive, Real Estate, farming and private business with my husband. I am a hospital volunteer and my interests include sewing/quilting, gardening and travel.
