Alastair Rhodes

Chief Executive

I joined the fantastic BayTrust family in February 2015 after previously holding senior commercial roles in Aviation, Strategy and Consulting and with a background as a qualified chartered accountant and lawyer.

I currently reside in Arataki, which is between the Mount and Papamoa and within walking distance to the ocean. I have a huge amount of passion for the Bay of Plenty and truly believe it is one of the best places in the world to raise a family. BayTrust has played a meaningful role in the Bay of Plenty over the last 35 years, and it’s a true pleasure to be part of the BayTrust team and helping to lead the Trust into the future.

I am fortunate to lead a team of passionate people who all have at their heart a desire to accelerate bold meaningful change, assisting BOP communities and the environment to flourish. I have a particular passion for investing to help drive positive impact and lead the trust's work in this area alongside our investment committee, where we also ensure we deliver best-in-class investment returns so that we can continue to increase our granting in the future

Please feel free to contact me on any issues or opportunities at any time.

I am also a former Trustee of BayTrust, having served from 2000 to 2008, and hold a number of other governance positions in the for-purpose sector, which I will continue in my ‘retirement’. I have two adult children and two lovely grandchildren.

Yvonne Baldock

Finance & Office Services Manager

I was born and bred in Tauranga many years ago. I have two adult sons and four grandchildren who keep me busy.

I joined the Trust team in July 2009. My formal training includes accounting and business development plus proofreading and editing.

Many years ago, I started volunteering in the community and continue to do so today – “one of the greatest gifts you can give is your time”.

I look after finance, administration, events, and office management. A bit of everything! Give a busy person and job and it will get done.

I joined the BayTrust team in 2015. My background is in social development and public relations. In my spare time I like to surf and try to improve my standing as the Bay of Plenty’s worst fisherman.

I work with the team to deliver our community funding strategy, ensuring funding is targeted to our strategic priorities to achieve long term outcomes and maximise impact.

Lisa Hickling

Sustainability and Impact Manager/Kaitiakitanga Lead

I have lived in beautiful Tauranga since 2014 and feel privileged to have been part of the wonderful BayTrust whānau since June 2018. My background is in community psychology, strategic planning and evaluation, and I have over the last 30 years worked in the not-for-profit, private and government sectors, from grassroots to EU level. I have supported various organisations over the years in both hands-on and governance roles and continue to enjoy and see value in this work. I have two boys, cats, dogs, chickens and fish, love science fiction books and movies, vege gardening and anything nature related which is why I absolutely believe the Bay of Plenty is the best place to be!
